Rock sliders are essential for rock crawling as they protect the body from impacts on rocks and allow the truck to slide over obstacles. Skid plates provide protection for the underside of the vehicle and offer a smooth surface to slide over obstacles. BAMF skids provide coverage from the front bumper to the rear transfer case plus additional coverage to the fuel tank. The 1/4" aluminum skids were chosen to reduce the weight of full steel, but required modifications for the wider RCLT LCAs and the extended angles of the double cardan driveshaft. The Factory Lower Control Arm mounts are thin and weak. They are not designed for the heavy weight of large tires or the potential impacts from rock crawling. These mounting points have been strengthened with gussets which also protect the cam adjustment bolts.

A high clearance rear bumper requires cutting the rear portion of the bedsides but allows for much more clearance on the trail. By also removing the spare tire the departure angle is improved significantly. This is an essential modification for improving trail performance as the truck is able to climb and descend steeper obstacles where the factory bumper would have gotten caught.
