ORI Struts are used in place of traditional coilover struts. They are essentially a spring and shock combined into a single unit using dual nitrogen cambers instead of external springs. They are perfect for long travel suspension applications and offer adjustable ride height and spring rates based on the nitrogen pressures used. ORI Struts are built in the USA.
RCLT HD stands for Rock Crawler Long Travel Heavy Duty suspension and is good alternative to a Solid Axle Swap. The RCLT provides long travel and increased ground clearance for rock crawling and off roading while maintaining the stability of IFS.
Fox Air Bumps are adjustable short stroke shocks used in place of traditional bump stops. Air bumps require custom fabrication to mount, but give the most possible up travel with provisions for height and pressure adjustments adjustment. The Fox Air Bumps were selected for their race proven performance history as well as being much quieter than normal air or hydro bump stops.
To keep the vehicle as low as possible, for increased stability, but maximize the available travel, the fenders and inner components required heavy modifications. The wheel openings in the fenders were cut and the inner fenders were modified. This required relocating components in the engine bay, such as the air intake, the windshield washer reservoir, battery, and fuse box.
To support the extreme stresses applied to the top of the strut the factory Toyota coil bucket was reinforced and a frame brace was added that goes over the engine linking the tops of each coil bucket. The coil bucket braces provide additional support for the UCA / Upper Control Arm and prevents the UCA bolt from backing out. The cross brace helps to prevent common coil bucket failure where the top of the strut breaks through the coil bucket, This brace also acts as a "strut tower brace" commonly used on sports cars to stiffen the frame and reduce frame flex and fatigue.
