14" Radflo smooth body shocks were used with adjustable remote reservoirs. This length shock provides excellent travel while being the maximum length possible to avoid a longer shocks that would go into the bed area, affecting usable storage space. Radflo shocks are built in the USA.
SUA or Spring Under Axle places the leaf springs under the axle as opposed to the factory location where the spring pack sits on top of the axle. This allows for a spring pack that has more arch, which in turn creates more opportunity for suspension travel, while keeping the vehicle lift as low as possible. This creates a low center of gravity yet long travel suspension. Deaver springs are made in the USA with American made steel.
A 12 inch chromoly shackle from Chaos Fabrication was used to facilitate the full 14 inches of shock travel through the SUA leaf springs. This required extensive frame modification as the shackle needed to straddle the frame to have its full range of motion. The frame was then fully boxed and braced with fabricated cross-members.
Fox Air Bumps are adjustable short stroke shocks used in place of traditional bump stops. Air bumps require custom fabrication to mount, but give the most possible up travel with provisions for height and pressure adjustments adjustment. The Fox Air Bumps were selected for their race proven performance history as well as being much quieter than normal air or hydro bump stops.
To keep the vehicle as low as possible, for increased stability, but maximize the available travel, the wheel openings in the rear fenders / bedsides were cut and the inner fenders were removed.
